Here at Articulous we have been working on a very exciting start up project – Project E – which promises to be a game-changer in the world of engagement and evaluation.
Project E is the world’s first mobile evaluation system for community and stakeholder engagement. It has been built for engagement professionals by engagement professionals and represents an exciting step in the evolution of engagement.
Currently in beta testing mode Project E enables practitioners to get insights from their community into how satisfied they are with the process, the people, the content, the activities, the impact of engagement and the relationships.
Project E is designed to empower teams with the knowledge to continually evolve and improve programs, and to gain internal support for engagement. It meets the current needs in the engagement space including:
- Community and stakeholder processes need to be evaluated to meet the new global quality assurance standards for engagement. There is also an increasing expectation that engagement will be evaluated to justify a ROI on increasing budget outlays.
- So often we want to do more evaluation, but it’s hard. It’s often too complex, too costly and there’s no easy starting point, or way to benchmark our work against like-projects.
Project E in a nutshell:
- A mobile evaluation system with 20 standardised questions, plus the option of tailored questions, which generates automated reports for internal reporting requirements, and where organisations can compare their performance
- across projects
- across their organisation
- across sectors
- across the industry
- across jurisdictions, and
- across the globe.
- Avoids providing any single rating to a project and instead provides a series of heat scales on the various questions.
- The system provides information to in-house practitioners and consultants to use in their own work
We have been busy consulting with practitioners on the form and structure of the questions to ensure that they best meet the requirements of the real world of engagement. We have also compared them to the new IAP2 standards to ensure that they are robust.
After we do some internal testing with clients we have been working with we will open up the survey to a limited number of beta organisations to seek feedback and make sure that we get it right. Then we will be able to release Project E on the world of Engagement!
