A former journalist, Amanda is long-standing weekly panellist on ABC Radio's Hidden Persuaders program where she joins dissect the latest trends in communications and marketing. She has also been a university lecturer, tutor and academic supervisor in communications.
She is a recognised expert in community engagement, having co-developed the industry standards for Australasia, co-developed the Queensland Government guidelines for engagement, and being one of only 14 licensed trainers for the International Association for Public Participation Australasia.
Amanda is also recognised as a leading innovator for her work with clients in developing new software applications including Australia’s first AR and VR mobile app for a planning scheme, a tracking software system to benchmark the performance of community engagement as well as two online games. She also chairs the National Centre for Civic Innovation which is the national committee of the Smart Cities Council of Australia New Zealand where she leads industry efforts to develop technology that generates civic improvement.
She sits on a number on a number of public and private sector boards and committees including Brisbane Festival.
