The challenge
How do you win club member support and communicate with neighbours about the needs and benefits of retirement development in partnership with struggling local clubs?
Our action
We developed a member and community and engagement strategy. We led strategy implementation, including member, community and stakeholder engagement.
The outcome
At the special general meeting, 92% of members voted in favour of the proposal, giving our client the approval needed to progress to detailed planning and development application.
How it happened
When land in the most sought-after locations is hard to come by, yet sporting clubs in these suburbs are struggling to stay afloat, our client sought partnerships to help clubs remain viable and solve their land shortage issue.
Articulous has supported our client to achieve a high level of club member support by clearly outlining the benefits to the club and delivering, open, accessible communication forums. No question was too hard to answer and no concern was too small to address.
Having achieved very high levels of member support, our client is progressing to detailed planning for a development application. Articulous is now working to communicate with the wider community about the need for purpose-built seniors housing to address concerns regarding the possible change of use.
