The challenge
How do you get staff to re-engage and improve staff satisfaction after enormous internal and structural change?
Our action
Develop a staff engagement process and facilitate 2-day sessions with diverse staff groups across the state. Identify priority areas and ideas for action, develop staff action plans and help form and give license to staff action groups. Essentially we turned the problem over to staff and empowered them to act.
The outcome
6 staff-led teams were formed and worked to implement their action plans. 12-months on staff action groups were still operating.
How it happened
Following a very poor result in the annual employee opinion survey Articulous were asked to develop and facilitate a staff engagement program for a Queensland Government Department.
The program was designed to empower staff to focus on areas and ideas they could influence and develop working actions plans for staff led teams.
Ultimately the program was incredibly successful, resulting in measurably improved employee satisfaction and winning a Government excellence award.
Staff engagement and morale results increased by up to 40 percentage points in just 9 months.
