Multicultural Action Plan

The Challenge

Articulous were engaged by the Qld Government to develop and implement an engagement program to create an action plan to enable the new Multicultural Act.

Our Action

The program engaged individuals and organisations who have not previously considered the benefits of cultural diversity, the barriers migrants face, and their role in contributing to a welcoming and harmonious community.

A total of 180 people from 30 different ethnicities and 29 language groups were engaged via workshops and forums to provide a deeper insight and intelligence into community and sector views about issues and opportunities for Queenslanders from diverse backgrounds.

How It Happened

Two forums and a total of 15 workshops were held across South East Queensland, Cairns and Rockhampton to gain input from a variety of multicultural groups.

Articulous was responsible for extracting and analysing considerable amounts of qualitative data to determine key ideas, systems, processes, opportunities and solutions to inform the Multicultural Action Plan.

Working closely with Multicultural Affairs Queensland, Articulous helped manage stakeholder relationships to ensure all data was captured in the most effective way.

The Outcome

Art Articulous delivered engagement activities, analysis and a final report to provide qualitative data to inform the development of a new Multicultural Action Plan that determined the actions to deliver the multicultural policy.
