Seqwater Water Future Forums

Articulous was engaged to assist Seqwater deliver a series of community forums across South East Queensland on the Water Future Program to:

  • Improve understanding of how communities value water now and their beliefs, attitudes and motivations for more efficient water use.
  • Compare four different water options being considered to provide security of water in the face of climate change and population growth
  • Increase community awareness and knowledge of how water works now, the challenges and opportunities for future water supply, the technical information underpinning each of the options and how each option can be used in the context of a drought
  • Build and maintain community trust in Seqwater as the regional water authority

Articulous undertook deep dives with community members using a range of innovative techniques including pre-polling and post-posting to track attitudinal and knowledge changes, live polling, group discussions and a world café to explore likes and dislikes of options.

The forums enabled digital mapping of responses from Local Government Area to Local Government Area, analysing data to provide deeper insights. The results enable comparisons to be made across LGAs and across age and gender across South East Queensland, stretching from Toowoomba to the border and north to Gympie.

This has enabled Seqwater to gauge deeper understanding of water knowledge, experiences and opportunities to help better plan for the future of water supply and usage across South East Queensland.
