Articulous managed the Yalingbila Bibula (Whale on the Hill) engagement on behalf of Cox Architects and Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC) from December 2018 to February 2019.

Yalingbila Bibula (Point Lookout Whale Interpretive Centre) is the development of a priority tourism infrastructure project that is culturally appropriate and one of 23 initiatives identified in the Queensland Government’s North Stradbroke Island Economic Transition Strategy and is being led by the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC).

Articulous approached the engagement using techniques that were able to capture people’s hearts and minds and educate them on the significance of the project to the Quandamooka people. This in turn encouraged community support and understanding for the project and knowledge of Aboriginal culture of language.

Articulous worked with Quandamooka artist Lincoln Costelloe to provided artwork for the project that visually capture the significance of Yalingbila Bibula, and educate participants about Quandamooka culture and language.  These illustrations formed the brand for the project and we used across all collateral.

Articulous also developed a story based online survey which wove deliberative questions into a rich narrative, helping respondents learn about the project through film, story and pictures.

Deliverables: Project branding, online survey, video, flyers/newsletters.
