Queensland Renewable Energy Study Independent Panel – Stakeholder and Public Engagement

The challenge

To meet changing community expectation and to help the nation meet international emission reduction targets, how can we transition to 50% renewable energy generation by 2030, and maintain reliable supply and affordable electricity rates?

Our action

Develop a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy. Facilitate public forums across Queensland and independently report on engagement.

How it happened

In 2016 the Queensland Minister for Energy and Water Supply appointed of an independent panel to investigate a pathway to achieving 50% renewable energy generation in Queensland by 2030. Articulous was engaged to develop an implementable engagement and communication strategy that would meet the Terms of Reference requirement for broad public and stakeholder consultation.

Articulous led the strategy development and worked with the project team and expert panel, providing strategic advice on implementation and facilitating public engagement sessions across the state including Mt Isa, Townsville, Gladstone, Emerald, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Toowoomba, and the Gold Coast.
